Program Overview

The Farm Stream under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is a specialized provincial pathway for experienced farmers who intend to establish or purchase a primary production farming operation in Alberta and settle permanently in the province.

The stream is designed to attract applicants with proven farm management expertise and substantial capital who can contribute to Alberta’s agri-food sector and long-term agricultural sustainability.

Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, with priority given to proposals that align with Alberta’s agri-food growth objectives.

There is no Expression of Interest (EOI) system for this stream — applications are submitted directly.

Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee nomination or permanent residence.
